Diabetes in old age, has a bad effect on the brain

When the body starts to age, of course, disease resistance will not be the same when you were young. The bad effects caused by the disease on the body are of course even more severe than when you were young.

As reported by dailymail.co.uk, there is a study that shows that those with diabetes and high blood pressure in old age will have a risk of brain damage.

The study, which involved people with diabetes and high blood pressure at the age of 40-64 years, found that the risks that occurred were reduced brain size, decreased memory skills and mild cognitive impairment.

"Sugar plays a major role in brain health. If you find a lot of sugar in your body, it will have an effect on a part of the brain called the hypopocamus. This part is responsible for absorbing and storing memories. Meanwhile, high blood pressure can also damage the brain. Because there is increased circulation blood that is too fast and high which can paralyze brain function, "said Dr Simon Ridley, head of research from Alzheimer's Research UK.

Again, he advised you not to be affected by these bad effects to always maintain your health. A healthy diet, diligent physical exercise, and a healthy and balanced lifestyle can keep you away from these terrible effects.
